You don't come here for ambiance - you come here for the food! Second time and we will be back next year. Heck we might get take out before we head home.

This time I had spicy chicken (I think it is called). I said I wanted something "mala" (term for that mouth numbing feel and spicy. This meal did not disappoint. This the first time I had any Chinese food with potatoes. It seems odd at first to have potatoes as that doesn't seem traditional at all. But they were perfect because they absorbed the flavors even more than the chicken. Each potato had that tingly sensation when you chew into them that I love with spicy szechuan food. Although treasure hunt is no longer open, this is my goto spot for lunch or dinner when I visit spotlight 29 casino.

Finally made the trek to Indio to check out CIE Sichuan. It did not disappoint! Plenty of street parking plus a private parking lot. Cool old building, I like this part of Indio. The Interior is nice, it seems to be set up for Dim Sum with round tables. There are also some booths and that was where they asked us to sit. We ordered hot and sour soup, pork potstickers, and kung pao chicken. The food came out quickly and the service was excellent. We liked all the food. The soup had a nice amount of heat, the potstickers filling was delicious and there was no weird mystery chicken in the Kung Pao. The Yelp reviews that complain about long waits, maybe they caught them on a bad day. Our server was handling five tables and we had terrific service and no waiting. We will definitely be back.

Whenever we arrive at a new place, we always search the area for Sichuan restaurants. Sure enough, we found this one. We went there around noon and found it empty, with only an elderly Chinese waiter working. We were the only table. Since we had a late breakfast and weren't too hungry, we just ordered two dishes: shredded pork with green peppers and stir-fried beef with scallions. The ingredients were very fresh, the flavors authentic, and the dishes paired perfectly with rice. The meal was also very cost-effective--$20 for the beef and $13.90 for the shredded pork. Overall, we were very satisfied with this meal and give it a thumbs up. This was the most cost-effective meal of our road trip!

While performing civic duty tasks in Indio, one of my colleagues and I decided to go to lunch at local restaurants and spread the wealth while we were assigned to the area. I was craving Szchuan cuisine, especially since my favorite restaurant in Riverside closed earlier in the year. Luckily, this local gem came up in a Yelp search and we set out to give it a go. After two visits, this is my report. First, parking is very accessible, including street spots. The restaurant has an antique interior with older style furniture and Chinese decor and collections of vases, ceramics, etc. There are dim sum options as well as a wide range of regional cuisine, including many spicy dishes the Szchuan region is known for. My first dish was a spicy number called the griddle cooked chicken, with lots of jalapeños rather than the mouth-numbing peppercorns. Nevertheless, its simplicity is what makes it stand apart from mainstream Chinese food. My buddy tried the Kung Pao, which was freshly prepared, but simple in presentation. Tasty, but not something I'd order in the future. The second visit saw a wider sample of entrees and dim sum options. The dumplings were excellent! I especially liked the house made crispy pork ones. We both enjoyed the steamed dumplings, too, and I was especially impressed with the dipping sauce. Essentially, it was a premixed condiment with soy sauce, black vinegar, hot chili oil, and infused with ginger. Our entrees also impressed, and my spicy pork was light and progressively spicier with each bite. Overall, I thought the food was very good and I'd definitely dine here again if I'm in the area.

Found This spot randomly searching for food! Everything is made fresh to order and in turn causes it to take a while for To Go Order... But im Grateful for it! They have plenty of seating and they are always helpful and ready to take your order! I ordered the Egg Foo young with Shrimp and it was the best I have had so far! The sweet lady who runs the restaurant made them fresh and by Hand..as if it was from your Moms Kitchen! The Egg Foo Young is not only fresh but the Portions are HUGE!! 1 Egg Patty is enough to get you full alone. The Egg Foo Young comes with 3 and are bigger than most I have seen!! The Menu has many Options and I cant wait to try some other Items next time im in Town! This spot has a nice Atmosphere and is Great for any Occasion big or small! If you are Near the area Check them out
